It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stuart Raithby, affectionately known as “Peg-Leg,” a former and highly valued member of the Trust Board. Stuart’s dedication and commitment over many years made a lasting impact on the organization, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of working alongside him.
Stuart was a pivotal figure within the Trust Board, contributing his time, expertise, and passion to support the community and the trust’s mission. His role as Treasurer on a voluntary basis at Grimsby & Cleethorpes Sands further exemplified his selfless spirit and unwavering commitment to helping others. Stuart’s efforts helped strengthen the organization’s foundation and ensured that vital services could continue to reach those in need.
Born and raised in Immingham, Stuart attended Immingham School before settling in Cleethorpes, where he lived with his beloved wife, Sandii Stampy Raithby. His roots in the local community were strong, and he was well known and respected by many for his kindness, generosity, and warm personality. Stuart’s connection to the area and its people was evident in everything he did, and he took great pride in giving back to the community that shaped him.
Beyond his professional and voluntary commitments, Stuart was a devoted family man. Our heartfelt condolences go out to Sandii and the entire Raithby family during this difficult time. We hope they find comfort in the love and support of those around them, as well as in the cherished memories of Stuart’s life and legacy.
The Trust Board and the wider community mourn the loss of a remarkable individual whose contributions and spirit will not be forgotten. Stuart “Peg-Leg” Raithby’s dedication, kindness, and passion for service have left an indelible mark, and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
